Eleanor Steinadler:

“Color is modulated and altered by light. Color is for me an interactive experience, each in interface with another. It becomes the structure within which the play of light is caught. I find myself looking for that moment – the inner light reaches out to me; it transforms what I’m looking at, so that the inner light is experienced; it colors my

photographs.”

 

ARTIST STATEMENT

I've been a professional artist since the 1960's, after having received my Graduate Degree equivalence from the Hochschüle für Bildende Künste, Berlin, Germany. My paintings have been in solo and group exhibitions in Copenhagen, Denmark, Amsterdam, Holland, Bern and Basel, Switzerland, Barcelona, Spain, Toronto, Canada, Boston and Boston area, MA, and New York City. Exhibitions have been reviewed in Boston Globe and Christian Science Monitor, Boston, MA, Modern
Painters, NY/London, and major newspapers in Toronto, Canada; Bern and Basel, Switzerland; Amsterdam and Leeuwarden, Holland; Copenhagen, Denmark; and Barcelona, Spain.

 

My professional involvement in photography postdates much of my practice as a painter in an important parallel development. My most recent solo show was at Galatea Fine Art gallery, Boston, MA in May 2010. My photographs have most recently been exhibited in these selected group shows: in Wingspread Gallery, NE Harbor, ME; Barn
