ARTIST BIO
John O'Shea was born in New York City in 1959. He moved to Ireland when he was 3 years old and began painting when he was 10. John returned to the US and New York when he was 19 and began to really develop his artistic abilities. During the last 10 years John has traveled frequently to the Alentejo region of Portugal. It was in Évora, Portugal that John spent almost all of his time painting and his art reflected the light and architecture of this ancient Roman city. John has been a resident of Provincetown for 15 years and he continues to explore new ways to share his cultural traditions. His current work reflects the people and places of Provincetown.
